2006. Many thanks to Andrea (Subinterior) for being such a patient webmaster all this time... November,
2005. A new 3" titled "Des tempes qui se vitrifient ou se marbrent" is available from Taâlem. The discography is now updated with an mp3 sample and the first reviews. The collaborative work with Paul Bradley, titled "Moraines", will be co-released by Twenty Hertz and Sileat early next year. Gears of Sand is probably going to re-release "Cancroregina" (currently out of print due to Immanence's demise), with a special remix of "Síndrome del Norte" by Paradin . An unreleased piece called "L'enveloppement cotonneux du bruit" was played in the UNsilently exhibition curated by Ven Voisey at the Contemporary Artists Center of North Adams, MA, USA. Featured artists were Joe Colley, Jeff Jerman, Jason Kahn, Roel Meelkop, Frans de Waard etc. A visual+audio catalogue of the exhibition is in the works. I have contributed with the track "Incoming" to the on-line tribute to the late Koji Tano (MSBR), who sadly died of cancer this year. The great folks at Steinklang Industries gathered an amazing number of international noisemakers for this last goodbye, and there are 10 full-length cds available for downlad here. Andrea Penso (Selaxon Lutberg) is currently working on a video of "Oficio de Tinieblas", from "Cancroregina", to be featured in a DVD compilation of Italian post-industrial projects (Foresta di Ferro, Wertham, Corpo Parassita, Bad Sector...), which will be released by his own Cold Current. Also have a look at the updated catalogue of the mailorder. March,
2005. Oltre il Suono has released "Beyond the darkness", a very nice cdr with all-exclusive tracks by Italian dark ambient and drone projects. You can find more info & tracklist here. The compilation will be distributed in the US by Soleilmoon. A new CC 3" cdr will be released by Taâlem, possibly later this year. I have also submitted my finished track and unedited field recordings for the Dielectric Field Recordings All Stars project. I'm currently working on a collaborative full-length with UK drone hero Paul Bradley, and looking forward to a collaboration with Canadian hypothermic drone beast Wapstan. And a joint effort with Luca Sigurtà is being discussed as well. My duo with Andrea Ferraris (Deep End, One by one we are all becoming shades), now called Luminance Ratio, is currently recording several tracks with the fundamental help of Gianmaria Aprile (Ultraviolet Makes Me Sick). Late December 2004 "Symptom of Thisease" is due out very soon on Thisco. It's 10€ ppd from me or directly from the label. I will update the site about that. The cdr on Mystery Sea, titled "Leitfossilien", will be out in January 2005. A new mp3 ("Oficio de Tinieblas", from a sold out Immanence sampler) has been added to the samples section. The mailorder has been re-baptized Sileat, and will hopefully start again after a temporary stop. Sileat will also be the label for any eventual release of mine. Currently working with Andrea Ferraris (Deep End, One by One We Are All Becoming Shades) on some droning but quite melodic pieces. Still no name for the project. Malasangre have recently appeared on the extreme doom sampler "Church of the Flagellation" (with Stabat Mater, Bunkur and The Sad Sun). Their track, "Revelation CCXXXIX" (some drones of mine there) is of course brilliant, but sadly it could be the last one from them. Let's hope that their second full length "Inversus" will be released by some label in the next future. September
10th, 2004 Mid August, 2004 "Forêt, forêt, des yeux fourmillent", from the "Ombilic des Limbes" sessions, will be released by Thisco in a 3-way split cd with Bio (Samuel Jerónimo) and The Beautiful Schizophonic (Jorge Mantas), both from Portugal. The cd, titled "Symptom of Thisease", should be out in September. August, 2004 Forthcoming from Cría Cuervos: The "Leitfossilien" cdr on Mystery Sea is due out in early December 2004. One long track lasting 35 minutes, mixing field recordings, deep drones and far away voices. "The Coldest January", the collaborative work with Sparkle In Grey [www.greysparkle.com], will be available soon as a net release, thanks to ctrl+alt+canc and SineMP3 . The Astipalea sampler "The quiet quiet quango" is supposed to be available, though I still haven't seen any copy. Featured artists are Jair-Rohm Parker Wells, Sunao Inami, T. H. Boe, Crank Sturgeon + XVParòwek, Violet, etc. "Hochgobernitz soliloquy" will be featured on a compilation cdr edited by Giuseppe Verticchio (Nimh, Oltre il Suono) and released by 21st Century Music magazine. Other artists are Alio Die, Amon, Raffaele Serra, Nimh, Opium, etc. I will participate with various field recordings and a finished track in the Dielectric Field Recordings All Stars project. The sounds will be re-worked and mixed by Drew Webster/Die Elektrischen, and the work will be obviously released by Dielectric records . Empirin are slowly assembling new tracks. Malasangre's
"Inversus", featuring some drones & electronics of mine, is due
out in Autumn on New Aeon/Karmageddon.
Soundscapes from these sessions will be played live in Barcelona in the Sonidos Fijados shows. The collaboration/split cd with Sparkle In Grey is ready and we're currently defining its issue. My track has been recently broadcasted by Murmer's Framework programme, thank you Patrick. Self-hatemongers Malasangre have finally completed their masterpiece "Inversus", and currently defining its release with a label. Expect sick and agonizing doom like you've never heard before. I have started a new project with Andrea/Insect Meat called Empirin - minimal glitchy textures, file under Deupree, Oval, 12k stuff, Fennesz, Tim Hecker, Mathieu, Jeck... Working on several tracks. Astipalea
(Poland) is about to release "The quiet quiet quango" cdr sampler, with
both Cría Cuervos and Insect Meat, plus Origami Arktika, T. H. Boe, Violet
(Jeff Surak), Apoca, Jair-Rohm, Crank Sturgeon + XVParówek etc. I'll have
some copies of this available. October
25, 2003: "A
seeding of ghosts", from "Cancroregina", has been airplayed on
12/10 by Inner Space ("an introspective listening experience for open-minded
audience, focused on all genres of music and non-music, based on minimalism. Broadcasting
from 18-20h sundays on 100,5 FM Radio Student in Zagreb, Croatia, as part of the
NonPop International Network. nonpopradio.com
"). Thanks to Vladimir. October
03, 2003: Hue is currently finishing the mastering and layout for the Cría Cuervos/Sparkle in Grey split cd. Still untitled, but dedicated to our last ill-fated January. The project started as a SiG composition, I used some of his samples and added mine; in turn, he then re-worked his track with some of my sounds. Expect moving minimal electronica from Sparkle in Grey and an electroacoustic tsunami from me. Sources were, among others, crazed ringtones turbulences, melting snow & ice, heartbeats. Currently looking for an interested label. My track "L'enveloppement cotonneux du bruit" should be released anytime soon on a compilation featuring "almost silent" tracks on the Polish label Astipalea, also featuring Tore H. Boe, Jair Rohm (Embryo), Insect Meat, Jeff Surak, Crank Sturgeon, Origami Arktika etc. The track is very silent and minimal, but still pretty dark, much in the style of the new full length release I'm working at. PS: Hubert, get well soon! My friends Malasangre are finishing the recordings of their new album. Three tracks for 55' of the most agonizing slow-motion doom you can think of. Leaving all stoner rock influences behind, they've reached a peak of sickness and heaviness that is almost unbearable. I've contributed with some drones and samples and am extremely proud of what they're accomplishing.
